Careers at Meridian

Build your advisory practice with Meridian.

Universal Wealth agents, outside experienced advisors with client books, career changers and career starters are welcome. No prior UW affiliation or existing client book is required for the new-advisor path.

Three starting points. One review process.

Where are you starting?

Outside advisors are welcome; UW affiliation is not required. Current or former UW connections and recruiter introductions are optional self-reported context, separate from qualifications and firm approval.

01 · UW and referral partners

Turn your referral experience into a registered advisory career.

Referral partners remain uncompensated for client introductions unless licensed as an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR). If you are ready to expand your service offering and pursue an advisory role, we provide a structured review process, Series 65 guidance, and turn-key onboarding.

Registration alone does not establish a right to compensation. Advisory compensation is separate from referral introductions and requires applicable registration, firm approval and an executed agreement.

  1. 1. Prepare: study for Series 65 or document an applicable examination exemption.
  2. 2. Apply: submit your qualifications using the email associated with any existing referral records, if applicable.
  3. 3. Complete review: background, disclosures, registration and written onboarding terms.
  4. 4. Begin after approval: provide advisory services only once required registration and firm approval are complete.

Candidate qualification checklist

Know the requirements before you apply.

1. Examination or designation pathway

Meet an applicable qualification route, or apply as a candidate working toward it:

  • Series 65, or the Series 66 + Series 7 combination, with applicable timing and other examination requirements.
  • A current designation in good standing that qualifies for an applicable state exemption: CFP®, CFA®, ChFC®, CIC or PFS.

Passing an exam or holding a designation does not itself authorize advisory activity. Waivers, prior-registration provisions and state requirements must be verified before registration approval.

2. Compliance and background review

  • CRD and disclosures: pre-hire record review, including FINRA records where applicable, and complete disclosure of required events.
  • Form U4 and supervision: properly executed disclosures, qualification evidence and acknowledgment of Meridian's written supervisory procedures.
  • Outside business activities: disclose all OBAs and personal brokerage accounts for review.
  • Fingerprints / Live Scan: complete any requirement applicable to your jurisdiction or role. DFPI currently states that fingerprint cards are not required for California IAR registration.

Meridian and the applicable regulator review eligibility. A filing is not registration approval. Review California DFPI guidance.

What you provide

  • Exam completion or designation evidence and a licensing plan.
  • Complete Form U4 disclosures, background information and any required fingerprints.
  • Outside activity and personal account disclosures.
  • Your client relationship and prospecting plan, consistent with registration and firm policies.

What Meridian coordinates

  • Applicable state U4 filings and registration fee sponsorship.
  • ADV Part 2B preparation and supervisory onboarding.
  • Technology provisioning, personalized pages and custodial integration.
  • Written onboarding terms that confirm support, fee sponsorship and engagement scope.

Tell us where you are in your qualification journey. Applications are reviewed separately from active-advisor registration, and existing referral history is connected for the team's review where a profile can be verified.

Confirm the suggested background or choose your own. This is context for review, not verification of licensing or registration. UW partners may already hold qualifications.

Outside advisors may apply without any UW affiliation. These optional reports provide recruitment context and relationship history, not verified affiliation or qualifications.

If an introducer is suggested, confirm or edit the name. This report is unverified and does not establish UW affiliation.

An estimate only; transfers depend on client choice and eligibility.
